my origin story

You know how, when you were younger, all the grown-ups would ask you what you wanted to be when you grew up? Astronaut, doctor, teacher, fireman - all great choices. My answer was and has always been "singer and actress". I pursued that dream from age 3 and haven't stopped since. While, of course, bills must be paid, I do as much creative performance art as I can to scratch that passion itch.

I grew up going to church religiously (pun intended), and church plays became my first stage. I only got hungrier for the thrill of theater through elementary and middle school. I balanced the arts with athletics that kept me busy, but expanded my special skills on my resume!

In high school, I had more of an opportunity to push the boundaries in my performance. I got a change to develop character work, comedic timing with a live audience, and even joined the improv team to further hone my skills.

I set my sights on the USC Theatre program and went in with theater and some on-camera acting experience, the ability to sing, play piano and basic guitar. I came out with a voiceover reel, several short films on my resume, the ability to play bass guitar, and a band that played all over L.A. for about a year.

Doing character voice work for an award-winning animated musical comedy, Limited Space

why I love ______

Theater: The live responses of the audience, the thrill of no do-overs, the panicked costume changes

Film: The ability to be subtle when emoting (you can't do eyebrow acting on stage), the opportunity to evolve your role in real time, the on-set snacks - we love a good crafty.

Voice Work: The fact that you can play characters you'd never be able to in person, the flexibility of where you do the work, getting to wear pajamas with no makeup on!

Music: The raw emotion you can express when singing or playing piano, the feel of being a rockstar when slappin' the bass, the joy of playing along side other talented musicians.
